Sleep & Sedation Dentistry
Making Care Accessible

What is Sedation Dentistry used for?
For many people, the hardest part of dental care is not the treatment itself, but the anxiety that comes with it beforehand
Sedation dentistry is designed to change that. It helps you feel calm and supported during your visit so treatment feels more manageable and far less stressful. You are always cared for in a safe, closely monitored environment, with options chosen based on your comfort level and the type of care needed.
At In Path Dental, sedation is not about rushing through appointments. It is about creating an experience where you can receive the care you need without feeling overwhelmed by it.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)
Nitrous oxide is a light form of sedation that helps ease anxiety while you remain fully awake and aware.
You simply breathe it in through a small mask, and it creates a relaxed, comfortable feeling that helps take the edge off during treatment. Most patients describe it as feeling calmer, lighter, and less focused on what is happening around them.
One of the benefits of nitrous oxide is that it wears off quickly after your appointment, so you are usually able to continue your day as normal.
It is often a great option for patients who feel nervous but still want to stay alert and in control during their visit.
General Anesthesia (GA)
In some situations, general anesthesia may be recommended for more complex care or for patients who are unable to tolerate treatment while awake.
With GA, you are fully asleep for the procedure and completely unaware of the treatment taking place. This option is carefully planned in advance and carried out in a controlled medical setting with the appropriate monitoring and support team in place.
We will only recommend GA when it is truly the most appropriate and safe option for your situation, and we will make sure you understand every step of the process beforehand.

When Sedation May Be Helpful
Sedation can be helpful if you:
The goal is not to “add sedation,” but to make sure care is accessible in a way that feels right for you.

A Careful, Supportive Approach
We always start by understanding your needs, your comfort level, and your medical history before recommending any form of sedation.
If sedation is appropriate, we take the time to explain everything clearly so you know exactly what to expect and feel comfortable moving forward.
Throughout your care, your safety and comfort remain the priority.
At In Path Dental, sedation dentistry is about removing barriers to care, not adding complexity. Whether it is light relaxation with nitrous oxide or treatment under general anesthesia, our focus is always the same: helping you feel safe, supported, and cared for every step of the way.
